An analysis and insight into the effectiveness of scaffolding: EFL instructors’/teachers’ perceptions and attitudes

This study examines the effectiveness of scaffolding in context Majmaah University EFL. It does so by exploring attitudes and perceptions a randomly selected group (30) EFL instructors various backgrounds degrees. Theoretically, it is informed medley relevant theories approaches Vygotsky’s Sociocultural Theory Learning, Bakhtin's Dialogism Habermas’ Communicative Rationality. Methodologically, combination questionnaire (23 participants) focus discussions (FGD) (7 were employed to collect data then analyze using pertinent tool for each instrument. The three questions paper set out answer were: 1) what are teachers towards scaffolding? 2) To extent they aware teaching? 3) What their attitude practicing pedagogical contexts?. Even though analysis largely revealed that participants practiced some way or other regarding practical exceedingly positive, there were, nonetheless, interesting complexities unveiled all along. Contrary seemingly participants’ perception strong belief knowledge principles underlying scaffolding, profound suggests they, fact, lack adequate knowledge/competence. appeared less confident beliefs when comes scaffolding. major contribution this lies apparent gap fills with its narrow on instructors’ alongside innovative employment discussion as an effective research tool.
